    Fisherman and Veterans! The North Wisconsin Rod and Gun Club is looking for disabled or Wounded Warrior Veterans who would like a chance to spend a day outdoors fishing on lake superior. We are also lookinf for anglers who are willing to give diabled Veterans a chance to spend the day outdoors. Pairings will be based upon the physical capabilities of the Veterans. Some boats have wheel chair capabilities. Fishing will take place from 7am-2pm. Following there will be a lunch at the North Wisconsin Rod and Gun Club clubhouse, located at 2nd Landing, Reykdal Rd, on the East side of Ashland.     CALLING ALL FISHERWOMEN! The 2nd Annual Powder Puff Fishing contest. You can register your boat at River Rock Inn & Bait Shop or at the Neighborly Bar. Registration is $30.00 per Boat. All boats must be registered by 9:00 pm Thursday, May 24th. 100% payback for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place. In addition the woman catching the biggest fish will receive a Sterling Silver Whitefish necklace and matching earrings. Fishing begins anytime Friday. Women must reel and net all fish. No help from the Captain or his male crew.
    Registration of fish caught will take place at the Neighborly Bar. All fish must be to the bar by 5:00 pm (4:45 Bar time.)

    Apple Blossom Run & Ride in Bayfield starting at 9am.  Join the community supporting the Bayfield Public Library to run, walk, or bicycle through the scenic orchard area on Memorial Weekend. The non-competitive, un-timed event will raise money for sustaining the library. All runs and rides begin at the Bayfield Apple Company, on the corner of County J and Betzold Rd. The 3.5 Mile Ride and the 2 mile walk/run finish at the gazebo. The 6 mile run/walk and the 13 mile ride finish across from the library.
