Cable Natural History Museum presents: Bibon Swamp Birding (Master Naturalist Advanced Training). This trip will walk a very lightly traveled, dead-end dirt road through sedge meadow, alder, ash, and mixed lowland forest while enjoying a potpourri of birds in a peaceful setting. Brad Gingras, former Cable Natural History Museum Naturalist, will help participants identify numerous species, and current Naturalist Emily Stone will assist. This northern majestic forest has some of the best wildflower diversity in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. Meet at the Morgan Falls Trailhead at 9:30am. We’ll naturalize along the easy trail to Morgan Falls until noon. Serious hikers can bring lunch and make the steep climb to the top. Space is limited. Memorial Day Remembrance Walk and Ceremony at MIHPA Veterans Memorial Garden-Please join the Madeline Island Historical Preservation Association immediately following the Memorial Day Ceremony at the Town Dock, LaPointe from 11:30-12:30pm. We will walk from the Town Dock up Colonel Woods Avenue to the MIHPA Heritage Center. There we will gather around the Veteran’s Honor Garden for a flag raising ceremony, songs by the summer choir and the laying of new pavers in the Honor Garden.
