Black Cat Coffeehouse presents: Spoons for the People 11am-1pm. In a blaze of creativity, Spoons for the People demonstrates an array of unique folk instruments as you’ve never heard them before. The Bones, Jug, Nose Flute, Jaw Harp, and more conspire and collaborate, layering on top of each other to form genre-defying grooves with the help of a looper pedal. Intricate arrangements of familiar and original tunes are constructed and improvised in real time, and electronic effects such as the vocoder (AKA ‘robot choir’) blend seamlessly with a colorful ensemble of age-old instruments. Audience members are invited to play the musical spoons (provided) with guided support and encouragement. Join this extraordinary singer, teacher, and folk instrumentalist for an interactive concert that’s sure to engross and inspire attendees. It’s hard not to smile when confronted with how playful music can be! This will be a fun show for families with young kids. 211 Chapple Ave. - 06/29/2025
