Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center

Begin your visit to the area at the Center. Engaging exhibits and programs tell the stories of the region’s cultural and natural history. Friendly staff are willing to answer questions and suggest area activities. Outdoors,  explore 1.7 miles of trails (.75 mi handicap accessible).  Indoors, enjoy the five-story observation tower or the Wisconsin Historical Society Area Research Center. Bring home something special from the unique Spirit of the North Gift Shop.

Before June 1, 2026, The Visitor Center is open Tuesday-Saturday, 9am-5pm.

Beginning June 1, 2026, the Visitor Center will extend its hours to Monday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., continuing through October 2026.
