The 132D Army Band of the Wisconsin National Guard will be performing at the Mesang Bandshell at 7pm. The Army National Guard’s 132D Army Band keeps the traditions alive and thriving with approximately 40 citizen-Soldier-musicians who travel the state, the country, and even the world with a variety of music. A descendant of the Army Guard’s famed 32nd “Red Arrow” Division bands of World War I and World War II, today’s 132D Army Band is an exceptional band of outstanding musicians. The band features at the Inaugurations of Wisconsin governors, supports military customs and ceremonies, and performs community outreach throughout the state of Wisconsin through music. Previously, the 132D has provided honors for the President of the United States, commissioned the battleship USS Wisconsin, performed with the Milwaukee and Beloit/Janesville Symphony Orchestras, commemorated the fiftieth anniversary of the Wisconsin Guard’s World War II service in Australia, welcomed home each of the Wisconsin Guard’s Desert Storm units, and played for military ceremonies and public performances in Germany and Hawaii, and Oklahoma. Members of the 132D Army Band include professional civilian musicians, from educators and performers to students. However, many represent an array of civilian professions in their hometowns throughout Wisconsin and nearby states. When they come together as the 132D Army Band, they’re all musicians in one of the finest military bands in the Nation. - 06/27/2023
